Our Mission:

To cultivate respect for traditional forms, foster cultural exchange, effect social justice and engage in community building, Duniya performs and teaches traditional and innovative performance pieces from Guinea, West Africa and Punjab, India.

​

Duniya Dance and Drum Company is looking for 2-6 dancers of all genders who align with our mission. We are especially looking for dancers of color with a background in South Asian dance. We do evening-length theater performances, school assemblies, festival performances, and private gigs such as weddings, business events, and parties. Most performances are paid; at this time rehearsals are not paid. 
 
Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings in San Francisco, with some weekend rehearsals added as needed. Daytime flexibility is a plus! 
 
If you pick up choreography quickly, have performance experience, and are trained in Bhangra and/or Bollywood, come audition! In addition to taking this audition class, you have the option to present a 1-minute piece of choreography. Please send us music in advance to managingdirector@duniyadance.com.This solo should be in the style you feel comfortable, it is meant to show us how you perform something that you know well.
